Digital Learning

Supporting creativity, independence, and safe digital practices

Year 1

In Year 1, children start to log on independently and access their own work using unique usernames and passwords. They build keyboard confidence through engaging typing games and explore basic programming using logic, sequencing, and programmable toys. Online safety is woven into every lesson, with specific themes explored in depth each half term.

Year 2

By Year 2, pupils demonstrate growing independence in navigating digital platforms. They can confidently access Google Classroom, open and complete assignments, and log off securely. Creative tasks include typing short stories and adding simple animations. Block coding is introduced, developing sequencing and computational thinking skills. Online safety continues to be a core focus, ensuring pupils are aware of how to stay safe and act responsibly online. Throughout the Lower School, our approach to Digital Learning is hands-on, age-appropriate and designed to inspire curiosity, creativity and confidence in an ever-evolving digital world.
