About Radley Schools Group

Launched in September 2025, Radley Schools Group believes in the timeless and authentic values of high quality charitable independent education. Through the strength and stability of our group, we are committed to providing exceptional educational opportunities for all our pupils throughout their childhood. Blending the very best of tradition and innovation, we seek to develop young people of outstanding character and purpose for generations to come.

Governance

Radley Schools Group is governed by the Council of Radley College which delegates management responsibility for each of its prep schools to the Chief Executive who leads the strategic development and supports the Heads of each individual school. He is supported by an executive strategic committee, chaired by the Warden of Radley College, which oversees and develops group strategy.

A Prep Schools Committee (PSC) serves as a Sub Committee of the Radley College Council, and includes four members of Council. The PSC receives reports on each prep school and considers educational, operational, financial and compliance matters. The PSC will make recommendations and report to Council. Further information on the Council can be found here.

Barfield Prep School also has a Local Advisory Group (LAG) which supports the Head and the teaching staff through the consideration and testing of ideas for the school’s best management and service to parents and pupils. The LAG meets regularly throughout the year, serving as an important communications channel between the PSC, the school and the parent community. The Chair of each LAG also sits on the PSC.
