Barfield Prep School Sustainability Pledge
Sustainability is rooted in our values and is a visible and purposeful part of school life, shaping how we teach, lead and make decisions as a community.
We are proud to support the Let’s Go Zero campaign and are committed to working towards becoming net zero carbon by 2030.
To support this commitment, Barfield Prep School:
- Actively monitors, reviews and reduces energy use and the environmental impact across the school.
- Embeds sustainability and environmental responsibility within the Curriculum, enabling pupils to develop an understanding, curiosity and a sense of ownership for the natural world.
- Reflects environmental considerations in site developments, procurement and operational practices.
- Provide opportunities for pupils to engage in practical sustainability initiatives, outdoor learning and leadership roles.
- Promote the school values and a wider sense of responsibility, encouraging pupils to make informed and positive choices both in school and beyond.
Our commitment to sustainability is visible across the school, from our learning environments and grounds to our daily routines and long-term planning. Progress towards our sustainability objectives is reviewed regularly by senior leaders and governors and informs strategic decision-making.
